Egmont National Park

Close to New Plymouth on the western coast of the North Island, Egmont, centred on Mount Taranaki, is one of the most accessible of New Zealand's national parks. Other nearby towns are Inglewood, Stratford and Opunake. An ambitious plan exists to make the park predator free without a predator proof fence taking advantage from the big plain of dairy farms around it.
