Kaimai Cheese Company

Kaimai Cheese Company is a specialty cheese producer making genuinely ‘natural’ cheeses. The Kaimai building is a wonderful replica of an old historic New Zealand 1920’s Butter Factory. Trusses and roof vents from the original butter factory were used in the design. You can see the entire cheese making process from behind large glass windows. In 2015 the factory was diversifying into UHT milk, a popular product on the international market. An on-site café is open 7 days a week from 8.00 am until 4.00 pm and coffee, cheeses and related products can be purchased. An impressive attraction for a small town and a fabulous place to lunch.
