241 Thames Street, Morrinsville, Matamata-Piako
Morrinsville is a compact Waikato town of some 7000 people sitting on what was once swampland. Now it is surrounded by wealthy dairy farms and brands itself "Cream of the Country". It is claimed there are more cows in a 10km radius of Morrinsville than anywhere else in the world. Culturally Morrinsville scores with its art gallery which displays work from the Wallace Arts Trust Collection. The Piako River on the southern side of the town provides a tree-lined space for walking. The history of Morrinsville is celebrated in the new Heritage Centre - the Morrin Museum.
