Bulls

Bulls is the town at the junction of SH1 and SH3. SH1 heads inland towards the Tongariro National Park and Taupo while SH3 goes to Wanganui and New Plymouth. Travellers often stop here for refreshment and cannot help but notice the way the town has gone over the top in using the word bull in labelling all its facilities. Looking for somewhere to eat? Try the child-friendly Mothered Goose Café on the corner of SH1 and SH3 or one of the other cafés and takeaway outlets. The library has been renamed Read-a-bull, the townhall Soci-a-bull, the Policeman is known as Const-a-bull. At the Information Centre you can make bus, train and ferry bookings - Phone 06 322 0055.
