Former Post Office Lower Hutt

For a time Lower Hutt's fine former Post Office was fronted by a pawn brokers. There are now plans to convert it into apartments. It was built in 1941-43 when the Government Architect was John Thomas Mair. The moderne styled building with elements of Art Deco was modified for retail use about 2000.
