Grays Bush Scenic Reserve

A small (12ha) pre-European bush remnant, popular with visitors that is thought to be the only forest community of its type left in New Zealand. The reserve contains the unique mixture of tall kahikatea over puriri with a light undergrowth of nikau, puketea, karaka and tawa. Several intersecting tracks suitable for all fitness levels, offer a 40-60 minute walk.
