Gisborne Walks

On 3 October 1769, the first European to land in New Zealand, Captain James Cook, stepped ashore here changing the course of New Zealand's history. There is an obelisk and a cannon from Cook's ship. The Kaiti Hill nearby boasts a statue of Cook and an observatory. There are excellent views and a path down to the beach. You can windsurf here.
