Ahipara is a popular Surf destination in NewZealand as it blends into Shipwreck Bay or locally known as Shippies, and is beautiful for swimming during the hot Northland summer.

The sunset on Ahipara Beach slowly drops under the Horizon and lights the water with bright orange, dark reds, and dusky pinks.

Beach access is not a problem as there are many different ways to get around. Nearly any car can get around the beach at low tide when accessed on Foreshore Road. But 4x4s are more suited to the terrain.
