A beautiful mixture of exotic and native bush and a great extension to Tahuna Torea, Wai-o-Taiki Nature Reserve is a narrow bush-clad fringe that runs alongside the Tamaki Estuary. It is home to many different birds and plants as well as grazing horses.Entrance to the paths that flow through Waiotaiki are from Kotae Road, Kiano Place and 106 Taniwha Street, Glen Innes.The name is taken from the original name for the Tamaki Estuary, Te Wai o Taiki - The Waters of Taiki. Taiki is the shortened version of Taikehu, the Ngai Tai tupuna (ancestor) who arrived on the Tainui waka.. Dog exercise: We do not currently have dog exercise area information for this park.
