Stockade Hill

Auckland Community Halls

Stockade Hill is thought to have been constructed in 1862 during the Land Wars. Though there may not have been conflict in this exact area, the top of this hill was fenced off and settler women and children slept in side the fenced area. It now hosts a World War One Memorial and is the site of Howick RSA's ANZAC commemorations.
