Otahuhu

Otahuhu is a multicultural suburb of Auckland with a strong Pacific Island influence. Over 50% of the residents have Pacific Island origins and the Indian and Sri Lankan communities are also increasing. The shopping section of the Great South Rd is a great place to view (and buy) the food, dress and ornament favoured by Otahuhu residents. Nearby in Mason Ave is the memorial to David Lange who represented this district in Parliament. Also in Mason Ave is Toia, Otahuhu's new recreational and community hub which has a swimming pool, library, meeting rooms, an outdoor water-splash area, playground, community garden and open outdoor areas.
