Waipoapoa Road, Maraetotara, Other
A good reserve for picnicking and bush walking. The area has been used to study the New Zealand pigeon (kereru) which, like other birds, are attracted to the berries of the tawa, pokaiwhiri, titoki, kareao and mahoe found in the reserve.
There has been possum control here and recently the tiny New Zealand Rifleman bird has returned to the area.
