6A Bay Road, Oxford, Waimakariri
The small town of Oxford now a farming centre owes to origins to a bush camp established in 1852. It served the sawmilling industry based on forests which were destroyed by fire in 1898. In the Main Street you will find a Lavender Farm, a craft cottage and a museum (open on Sunday afternoons). There are beautiful bush walks. Mears Track at the top of Crallans Drain Road is a stand of native bush, beech trees, honey dew, fantails etc. Easy 20 minutes walk around the track.
