York Park Motueka 7120 , Motueka, Tasman
York Park is located on a small peninsula on the northeastern margin of Moutere Inlet between Motueka and Port Motueka. It adjoins Motueka Cemetery to the north and Trewavas Street to the east. It was formerly leased for grazing and subsequently mown and planted as a park.
York Park comprises areas of mown grass, recently planted trees and shrubs, and some older pine trees along the estuary margin and to the north of the park. Most plantings are of native species, including taupata, kohuhu, toetoe, kanuka and sedges.Seats and paths have been established, and the park forms an important part of the walkway link through Motueka Cemetery. There is a ‘doggie-do’ bag dispenser at one entrance to the park; the park is a designated dog exercise area
Dogs may be exercised off the leash but should be kept under control on this reserve. There are many places within Tasman District to exercise your dog, both on and off the leash. Dogs are prohibited in several beach and reserve areas, and other areas require leash control.
