6 Dicker Rd Tasman 7173 , Abel Tasman National Park, Tasman
Tasman Memorial Recreation Reserve is situated alongside an old section of the Coastal Highway near Dickers Road at Tasman.
A large part of the reserve is grassed open space, presently used for informal recreation including horse riding. A portion of the reserve alongside the road boundary has been fenced and developed as a children’s play area, with some amenity plantings. The road frontage also includes a low concrete wall and memorial gates, commemorating those who lost their lives in World War II.
Charles Field gifted the reserve to the Crown in 1948, and a further strip of adjoining land was acquired in 1950. The reserve was vested in the Tasman District Council in 1989.
