Snells Beach

  Snells Beach, Auckland

Snells Beach is long stretch of beach with multiple entry points, a lovely winding walkway that spans most of the beach - perfect for walking or bike riding for young children, 3 playgrounds, 2 toilet facilities, as well as a B.B.Q.

It is a very tidal beach, and in high tide it makes for great swimming, but equally at low tide it is fantastic play for young children in the many warm paddling pools that form at low tide.  If you time it right, in summer at late afternoon high tides, the water becomes like a gorgeous warm bath as it creeps over the hot sand.

Dog exercise: Dogs are prohibited headland to headland from 9am to 7pm between the 1st Sunday in October and the 3rd Sunday in March.
