Tangoio Falls Reserve

The Tangoio walkway is named after the 51 ha scenic reserve through which it passes. The track follows the Kareaara Stream to the Te Ana Falls. Tangoio Falls are another 15-minute uphill trek from there. Enjoy the native bush and check for the freshwater crayfish often seen lurking in the river shadows. Listen out for the fantail, grey warbler, bellbird, tui, kingfisher or native wood pigeon.
