Pig and Whistle Pub

Once a substantial police station designed by Government Architect J T Mair and opened in 1940, the Pig & Whistle is now a popular bar, eating place and entertainment venue. A locally made plaster-cast frieze of Maori motifs runs around the outside of the building The website gives some history.
