North Hagley Park Circuit - 1- 1.5 hours
This is a lovely walk in spring. Start at the bridge at the northern end of Armagh Street.
(Cross the bridge and take the road into the park for free carparking.)
From the bridge you follow a shingle track around the perimeter of the park. At first you walk alongside the River Avon, then through an avenue of cherry trees alongside Harper Avenue. After skirting a golf course and playing fields the track reaches the river again as it loops around the Botanic Gardens.
Walk through a woodland area covered in daffodils in the spring. You’ll pass a band rotunda and a water fountain sculpture before arriving at the Antigua Street Boatsheds (1882). From the boatsheds, walk along Rolleston Avenue, passing the Botanic Gardens, the Museum and Christ’s College, to your starting place.
