Conical Hill Walk - Hanmer Springs

Conical Hill - 1 hour return

Steepish but an excellent track. Starts at the end of Conical Hill Road straight up from the town. This hill, once covered in tussock, is now graced by trees such as giant fir, Lawson’s cypress and Atlas cedar.
A zig-zag track winds through the Black Forest atmosphere created by these tall timbers to the top, where a stone lookout provides excellent views of the plains and the hills surrounding them. On the other side of the hill, the track down from the summit joins with Pawsons Road and then goes on to Woodland Walk.
