Scott Expedition Memorial

Dunedin City Walks

Positioned to overlook the Harbour from which their expedition sailed in the Terra Nova to Antarctica in November 1910, this monument is a memorial to Captain Scott and his four companions who lost their lives returning from the South Pole. The plaque on the memorial includes Scott's last message. The road goes past here but you can also walk from Port Chalmers following a track up the hill from behind the Iona Church.
