Tokomaru Steam Engine Museum

Horowhenua Museums

New Zealand's most comprehensive collection of steam engines. For the enthusiast or those with an interest in New Zealand's economic history, this privately run museum was not to be missed.

The museum is unfortunately not at present open. Its founder Colin Stevenson was given a steam powered send-off when he died aged 87.

The museum is on the market and efforts have been made to relocate it to Palmerston North.
