Goldsborough

Stafford Loop Kumara is whereDoC maintain a small camping area named Goldsborough.

From 1860 to 1900 Goldsborough was a thriving goldmining town of 1000 - 2000 residents, but now there is nothing to be seen other than a clearing in the bush.

There are walks to be done here and those who frequent the area love it, even the sandflies.

The German Gully Pack Track (40 minutes return) starts at the camping area and takes you past old gold workings.
There are several other walks of various lengths, because this is an old gold workings area it pays to keep your wits about you as there are plenty of hidden shafts.
