Nga Purapura - Otaki

Nga Purapura (the Institute for Maori lifestyle advancement) is across the road from the Maori tertiary education provider Te Wananga o Raukawa Its facilities are available to the wider community.

Tennent and Brown were the architects. By adding decorative features they have created an impressive building despite the underlying structure being slabs of concrete. An internal feature is an atrium pod designed as a calm space.
