Akaroa Lighthouse

Akaroa Head lighthouse (1878): Moved to Cemetery Point in 1980, the lighthouse, with its hand-wound machinery and French hand-made lenses, may be viewed during the Christmas holidays and on Sunday afternoons (1pm-4 p.m.). The lighthouse is a short walk from the town centre.
