Otoko Walkway

Gisborne Walks

A 5-km, one-way walk traversing a section of the old Gisborne-Moutohara railway, parallel to State Highway 2. Allow 2.5 hours. The recommended starting end is at the Mahaki tunnel. At the Otoko end the track leaves the railway formation to link with the main road. Continuing a short way along the railway will lead to views of a small waterfall. The walkway is closed during the lambing season: (1 August - 30 September).
