Codgers Park and the Crazy Horse

Mountainbike heaven that Nelsonians are justified in bragging about.

Codgers Park or Codgers Mountain Bike Park is the spiritual home of the Nelson Mountain Bike Club, so it is pretty busy on the weekends. A wide network of trails, to suit all abilities, are the drawcard. The majors are the Dun Mountain Ride and the Crazy Horse.

There is just a little thorn in the side of this rose and that is the access to the Park. Council has long been looking for solutions to the parking situation here on Brook Street, a very narrow road and the locals like it that way. The latest proposal, already approved for funding by MBIE, is a parking, wash-down, and toilet area on Andrews Farm, a bit up the road. This would be called theAndrews Farm Recreation Huband looks on track to happen. MTB People, flick us a photo please!
