683 Egmont Road, Hillsborough, New Plymouth
All the olden golden Holdens are here gathered, at Hillsborough Car Museum and Mini Golf.
On a rural Taranaki Road, the museum sprung up, when Steve and Joy Fabish's Holden car collection became so big it needed to be shared. The big shed features immaculately displayed Holdens of all eras, and a surprising volume of related merchandise and memorabilia.
Even the mini-golf is car racing themed, built upon a hill they call Mount Panorama, after the famed home of the annual battle between Holden and Ford at Bathurst New South Wales.
After 2020, there will be no new model Holdens to add to this excellent collection. The brand was discontinued by it's new owners in a changing motor market, Fabish taking to the media to voice his disappointment when the announcement was made.
Don't go looking for this attraction in Hillsborough in Auckland, it is in between New Plymouth and Egmont Village on Egmont Road. Taranaki. The Fabishes also run an accommodation business next door.
